Tooling
The Investment Casting cost model accounts for mold costs for the following processes:
Soluble Wax Core Making: see Hard Tooling Cost for Soluble Wax Core Making.
Ceramic Core Making: see Hard Tooling Cost for Ceramic Core Making.
Wax Pattern Molding: see Hard Tooling for Wax Pattern Molding.
If two cores have the same volume and box dimensions (within a small error—see Core Tooling Groups), the cost model assumes that they have the same shape, and so can be made with the same tool (if they are both soluble wax cores or both ceramic cores).
Tooling costs for these processes are based on an empirically derived cost algorithm. The costs are overridable in Formula Dependencies dialog.
The cost model also accounts for fixture costs for the following processes:
Tree Assembly: see Tree Assembly Formulas.
Dimensional Inspecting: Dimensional Inspecting Formulas.
