Bulk costing data fields
There are four groups of input data fields associated with the components in a bulk cost group:
-
Production Info
-
Quoted Cost Info
-
Administrative Info
-
Process Routing.
Production Info fields are required to initially cost the part or assembly and include:
-
Process Group
-
Annual Volume
-
Production Life
-
Plant Name (Digital Factory)
-
Material Composition
If the values for these fields are not specified in the Bulk Cost Group, aPriori uses the Digital Factory default values.
Quoted Cost Info fields allows a user to enter a current cost or quote information, which is used subsequently in cost per mass analyses and for comparison to the aPriori cost estimate. These are optional fields and include the following
-
Quote Total part Cost
-
Quote Tooling Cost
-
Quote Material Composition
-
Quote Process Group
-
Quote Annual volume
-
Quote Routing
-
Quote Date
-
Quote Factory
Administrative Info groups optional fields containing descriptive information about the parts, which may be useful for subsequent searching and analysis. These fields include:
-
Part Description
-
Product Line
-
Model Number
-
Project
Process Routing fields display the routing specified and/or chosen by aPriori for the component.
-
By default, the Process Routing field is blank initially, and aPriori automatically determines the routing and machine which will result in the lowest cost.
-
You also can specify the routing and machine to be used when bulk costing components.
-
To do this, select one or more parts in the table and Edit > Edit Process Routing. (also available with right click).
See Selecting a process routing for detailed instructions.
Note: If a bulk costing part includes required UDAs (User Defined Attributes), verification that the required UDA(s) exist is done during initialization of components. This means that if a required UDA is not specified, you get an error message only once all components in the bulk cost group are initialized/costed.
