Active and Inactive scenarios
In either direct integration mode or CAD independent, file-connected mode, aPriori Professional can automatically monitor CAD model geometry and apply geometry changes to an open associated scenario for which a costing or other action that requires the regeneration of Geometric Cost Drivers (GCDs). To provide you with an extra measure of control over the automatic geometry updates, aPriori Professional allows you to make a scenario Active,
, or Inactive,
.
If a scenario is set to:
-
Active – It automatically updates to match CAD changes when you initiate an action that requires the regeneration of GCDs.
-
Inactive – It does automatically updates to match CAD changes when you initiate an action that requires the regeneration of GCDs.
Setting a scenario to Inactive can improve performance during costing operations, but it runs the risk of not capturing recent updates to the CAD model.
To prevent you from inadvertantly switching a sub-component of an assembly to an inactive scenario, aPriori Professional provides this warning:
You have selected a scenario that is not active (connected to CAD) and may have different geometry than the component that is in this assembly. If you continue, then the component scenario's geometry may be different than the component's geometry in this assembly (which is connected to CAD). Do you wish to continue?
