Blank (Edge Radii and Utilization) Guidance Configuration

Thresholds for edge radii and material utilization are specified in the lookup table tblDTCBlankGuidance:

The table has the following columns:

  • Operation: specifies the process to which the row applies. Rows with Other in the Operation column apply to processes not specified elsewhere in the table.

  • Metric: this is either:

    • minEdgeRadius: used to flag when an edge radius on a blank is too tight for each process.

    • minUtilization: used to flag when material utilization for a blank is too low for each process.

  • Value: this is either:

    • For minEdgeRadius metrics, the edge radius threshold (as a multiple of blank thickness).

    • For minUtilization metrics, the material utilization threshold.
