Number of Ejector Plates Holes Calculation

Number of Ejector Plates Holes = max(Ejector Plates Holes Min, (((Mold Base Length / Ejector Plates Hole Spacing Length) + ((Mold Base Width - Ejector Plates Width Reduction) / Ejector Plates Hole Spacing Width) - 4)) * 2)

aPriori returns whichever is the greatest of the following calculations:

  • Ejector Plates Holes Min: This is the minimum number of holes in compression molding ejector plate and is specified by the cmEjectorPlatesHolesMin cost model variable (8 holes in starting point Digital Factories).

  • ((Mold Base Length / Ejector Plates Hole Spacing Length) + (Mold Base Width - Ejector Plates Width Reduction) / Ejector Plates Hole Spacing Width) - 4) * 2:

    • Mold Base Length: This is specified by the Mold Base Size – Length setup option.

    • Ejector Plates Hole Spacing Length: This is the linear spacing of ejector plate mounting holes in the lengthwise direction and is specified by the cmEjectorPlatesHoleSpacingLength cost model variable (203.2 mm in starting point Digital Factories).

    • Mold Base Width: This is specified by the Mold Base Size – Width setup option.

    • Ejector Plates Width Reduction: This is the difference in width between the tool cavity/core plates and the ejector plates and is specified by the cmEjectorPlatesWidthReduction cost model variable (152.4 mm in starting point Digital Factories).

    • Ejector Plates Hole Spacing Width: This is the linear spacing of clamp plate mounting holes in the widthwise direction and is specified by the cmEjectorPlatesHoleSpacingWidth cost model variable (150 mm in starting point Digital Factories).
