Sustainability Data for 2-Model Machining

The 2-Model Machining cost model provides the following Sustainability outputs on the Part Details / Sustainability tab in aPriori:

  • Supports Sustainability: Yes, or Partial, depending on whether the Source and/or Machining Components support Sustainability. Note also that aPriori displays Sustainability data for the Source Component only if it was costed in a process group that supports Sustainability, as shown in the following example:

Sustainability Summary tab for 2-Model Machining

  • Primary Material Carbon Factor and Energy Carbon Factor: not applicable to 2-Model Machining. aPriori leaves the cells blank.

  • Logistics Carbon, Annual Carbon, and Total Carbon: the calculations for these variables are the same for all processes – see Sustainability Cost Model Overview.

  • Material Carbon: shown only for the Source Component, and only if it is applicable (in which case, refer to the appropriate process group section in the Cost Model Guide for more information). It is not applicable to the Machining Component; aPriori sets the value to zero. For the Machining Component, although you can see the Material Carbon formula in the Formula Dependencies window, all the cells are blank other than the Final Yield percentage.

  • Process Carbon: For the Source Component, if it supports Sustainability, refer to the appropriate process group section in the Cost Model Guide for more information. For the Machining Component, see Sustainability Data for Stock Machining, Sustainability Data for Machining, and Sustainability Cost Model Overview.

2 Model Machining Spreadsheet Reports

For 2 Model Machining, aPriori shows Sustainability data in the following reports:

  • Part Cost Report: aPriori shows Sustainability data only for the Machining Component, not the Source Component (even if it supports Sustainability).

  • Cost Driver Report: aPriori shows Sustainability data for both the Source Component and the Machining Component.

Note: For more information about aPriori Spreadsheet Reports, see Sustainability Cost Model Overview and the aPriori Professional User Guide.
