aP Design

aP Design is a high-impact, cloud-based, manufacturing simulation solution that analyzes CAD models, estimates cost for assemblies and parts, and identifies design for manufacturing (DFM), design to cost (DTC), and sustainability issues.

aP Design provides Design Engineers with suggestions for resolving DFM issues in part designs.

It also allows Design Engineers to examine how manufacturing decisions, such as the material and the manufacturing processes used to make a component, affect cost.

aP Design users can create side-by-side comparisons of the best design options, and publish comparisons and optimized designs for review by the broader team.

Team leads, manufacturing engineers, cost specialists, and sourcing professionals can then optimize the design for cost by adjusting the manufacturing process and sourcing inputs in either aP Design or aP Pro.

At any time, the Design Engineer or a member of the broader team can assign the design to anyone on the team or share the results with managers and stakeholders for review and feedback.
