aPriori Professional 2022 R1 SP1 removes a previous Known Limitation because aPriori now can recognize the extrusion profile and estimate the manufacturability and cost of extrusion parts including spline cross-section entities.
Previously the Extrusion geometry analysis algorithms did not handle the case where the cross-section contained a curve which was not a true circular arc but instead a spline with non-constant curvature. Examples of parts with this characteristic are shown in this figure.
For these types of parts, aPriori previously failed to analyze the part and instead displayed the message aPriori cannot find the requested stock form. aPriori now has enhanced the Extrusion geometry recognition algorithms and can estimate their manufacturability and cost.
