Bar and Tube Fabrication Enhancements

Sustainability Insights for Bar & Tube Fabrication

aPriori 2023 R1 SP2 extends Sustainability Insights to the Bar & Tube Fabrication process group.

aPriori now estimates carbon emissions (CO2e) for bar and tube parts, including carbon associated both with the material stock used to make the part and the fabrication processes themselves. These calculations leverage data licensed from Ecoinvent, a leading provider of life cycle inventory datasets.

Carbon estimates are now provided for all manufacturing process in the Bar & Tube Fabrication process group:

2 Roll Bending Extrusion Punching
3 Roll Bending Flanging Reciprocating Saw
4 Roll Bending Flaring Reduction
Band Saw Flattening Rotary Draw Bending
Bar Bend Brake Knurling Shear
Bar Forming Notching Sheet Laser Cut
Billet Preheat Oxyfuel Torch Cut Sheet OxyFuel Cut
Circular Saw Plasma CNC Cut Sheet Plasma Cut
Compression Bending Plasma Torch Cut Slotting
Die Preheat Profile 3 Roll Bend Tube Laser
Expansion Profile CNC Bend

Known Limitation: aPriori does not yet calculate carbon estimates for the Laser Seam Welding process in the Part Assembly secondary process group, which is available to be manually included for Bar & Tube Fabrication routings.

Note: Your company must have a license for the Sustainability module to access this functionality. Additionally, you must upgrade your Bar & Tube manufacturing process model to version CMV 230 or higher.
