Sustainability Insights for Gravity Die Casting
aPriori 2023 R1 SP2 provides Sustainability Insights for Gravity Die Casted parts.
aPriori now estimates carbon emissions (CO2e) for parts manufactured by the Gravity Die Casting routing. The approach for estimating material carbon emissions is consistent with the approach for High Pressure Die Cast, which was supported in a previous release. The Gravity Die Cast routing shares two manufacturing processes with the High Pressure Die Cast routing, Melting and Trim. Carbon emissions are now estimated for eight additional processes specific to the Gravity Die Cast routing. These calculations leverage data licensed from Ecoinvent, a leading provider of life cycle inventory datasets.
The additional manufacturing process coverage (shown below) completes carbon estimates for all manufacturing processes within the Casting-Die process group:
Cleaning | Gravity Die Casting |
Core Refractory Coat | Refractory Coat Air Dry |
Coremaking | Refractory Coat Oven Dry |
Finishing | Visual Inspection |
Note: Your company must have a license for the Sustainability module to access this functionality. Additionally, you must upgrade your Casting-Die manufacturing process model to version CMV 160 or higher.
