Language Support

The user interface, messages, and documentation for new capabilities and enhancements provided in aP Pro 2024 R1 SP1 currently are available only in English. (Note that previous functionality is translated; only the new capabilities are not yet translated.)

An upcoming release will provide translation of the new capabilities and documentation as described below:

  • User interface and messages will be translated into these languages:

    • German

    • French

    • Chinese

    • Japanese

  • A subset of the user documentation and on-line help for new capabilities will be available in German and in Japanese.

To display the aP Pro application in another language, please refer to Setting a display language in the aP Pro User Guide. Note that the instructions for Japanese have been updated.

For information on how to display the on-line help in a language other than English, refer to Setting a language for the aPriori Professional online Help documentation in the aP Pro User Guide.

Updated Instructions for Displaying the aP Pro Japanese Interface

In previous releases, aPriori's instructions to users for displaying the aP Pro Japanese interface omitted a step that is required in order to ensure correct character display. Without the extra step, some characters were displayed incorrectly as Chinese in various secondary dialogs, such as informational dialogs invoked from the Validation or Design Guidance tabs.

This problem is corrected by the addition of the following step:

  • Rename the file <aPriori Dir>\WIN64\jdk\jre\lib\fontconfig.properties.src by removing .src suffix, so that the full name of the file is <aPriori Dir>\WIN64\jdk\jre\lib\fontconfig.properties.

Note: If you need to change the language from Japanese to Chinese, then you must rename the file back to its original name, fontconfig.properties.src. It is not necessary to rename the file when setting the locale to the other languages supported by aPriori (English, French, and German).

For more information, see Setting a display language in the aP Pro User Guide.
