Fluorescent Penetrant Testing
aPriori 2024 R1 SP2 updates the cycle time calculation for Fluorescent Penetrant Testing, leading to general reductions in cycle time for this process.
In the previous release, the manufacturing process model assumed that each part went through the following phases in sequence: penetrant dwell, excess penetrant removal, developer dwell, examination. In this release, it is assumed that these phases occur in parallel for the parts in a batch. So the process time per part is the time for the phase that takes the longest, which is assumed to be examination time. This release also changes the default number of operators from 0.5 to 1.
As in the previous release, examination time is calculated as the product of the part surface area and the cost model variable visualInspectTimeStandard (5 min/m2 in starting point Digital Factories).
As a result of this change, process time decreases significantly compared to the previous release. Note that this process is included automatically in the Investment Casting routing.
