Resolved Issues

These issues, which were discovered in prior releases, are resolved in aP Pro 2024 R1 SP3:

Disable GCD Overrides for Non-CAD-connected Scenarios

aP Pro 2024 R1 SP3 disables the ability to override GCD properties that require the scenario to be CAD connected.

aP Pro 2024 R1 SP3 now prevents users from making overrides to certain GCD properties when the scenario is not connected to the associated CAD file. A number of GCD overrides require GCD re-extraction with a CAD-connected scenario to ensure complete and accurate estimates. Previously users could override these GCD properties and re-cost the scenario when it was not CAD connected; however, results could be incorrect and the scenario could not be saved in this state.

Improved Gear Recognition for Specific Part Types

aPriori 2024 R1 SP3 now extracts a turning axis and AxiGroove GCD for certain types of gear parts, even when the teeth are modeled somewhat incorrectly.

This release improves Turning Axis and AxiGroove extraction for parts where:

  • The gear feature occupies the entire length of the part.

  • The outermost surface of the teeth is either planar or a curved surface that is not rotationally symmetric about the part’s turning axis.

For example, if a part had gear teeth whose outermost surfaces are planar, and the part had no other convex cylindrical feature centered on the turning axis, aPriori previously did not extract a turning axis or AxiGroove feature. As a result of this fix, parts modeled this way now will include Turning Axis and AxiGroove GCDs when they did not in previous releases.
