Assembly Enhancements
aPriori 2026 R1 includes the following enhancements:
-
CAD File Associations Maintained when Bulk Costing Assembly STEP Files Using the Deep Costing Option
Major Performance Improvements for Assemblies
This release provides a range of geometry extraction performance enhancements for aP Pro and CAD file handling improvements for aP Pro in the cloud, resulting in faster costing, more efficient file handling, and a smoother experience for users working with complex assemblies:
-
Improved performance of minimal bounding box calculation
To speed up GCD extraction, this release parallelizes parts of the bounding box computation, reducing extraction times for large assemblies by up to 15%.
-
Improved performance of assembly contact region computation
This release optimizes area calculations by caching and reusing computation results, significantly reducing extraction times for large and complex assembly models by up to 67%.
-
Improved STEP assembly storage (upload) for aP Pro in the cloud
This release eliminates unnecessary repeated uploads of subcomponents during assembly costing, which greatly improved performance for assemblies with large numbers of unique parts. Costing of STEP assemblies is now up to four times faster.
CAD File Associations Maintained when Bulk Costing Assembly STEP Files Using the Deep Costing Option
Previously, the child scenarios of a single-file assembly (such as a monolithic STEP or JT file) became CAD-disassociated (lost its association to a CAD file) if the user performed deep costing on the assembly within the Bulk Costing and Analysis tool in an on-premise installation. Now, CAD associations are preserved as expected.
