What's New¶
aP Workspace 1.2.0 provides Projects. Projects allow users to collaborate around a group of scenarios and include multiple capabilities, described below.
Projects Page¶
The Projects page allows you to see all the projects in which you are included. By default, projects are filtered by unread and sorted in order of date created. To see all projects, click the Unread button.
You can search by project name to find a specific project.
Click the project name to open the project in the Project Details page.
Create a New Project¶
To create a new project, click the Create New Project button in the top right corner of the Projects page.
Projects require a name, a description, at least one scenario of a part or assembly, and at least one team member.
To add a scenario of a part or assembly, click the Add New button.
Use the search dialog to find the scenarios you wish to add.
Note:
When adding scenarios of parts and assemblies, you can only select scenarios that are not part of another project. Scenarios that are part of a project already will be grayed out.
Once added, the scenarios appear as thumbnails in the Part and Assembly section.
To add users, begin typing a user's name and then select their name in the drop-down list. Initially, you can add up to ten users. You can add more if needed after the project has been created.
Optionally, you can also assign a due date.
Limitation
You can add only ten users at a time to a project. However, projects can have as many users as you want associated with them.
Project Details¶
The project Details tab displays general information about the project. If you are the project owner, you can edit these fields by clicking the Edit button in the top right corner of the page.
You can then edit the project information and save your changes.
Project owners also have the following privileges to manage the project:
- Add or remove scenarios from the project
- Add or remove users from the project
- Transfer ownership to a new owner
Note:
A project can have only one owner. Once project ownership has been transferred, the original owner can no longer make changes.
The project owner can also delete the project by clicking the Delete Project button.
Note:
Use caution as this action cannot be undone.
Project Parts & Assemblies¶
The project Parts & Assemblies tab shows which scenarios are associated with a project. The tab uses the same table controls as the main Parts & Assemblies page, including column configuration, filtering, and sorting.
If you are the project owner, you can add more scenarios by clicking the Add button.
You can then select scenarios to add to the project, provided they are not already associated with a project (in which case, the scenario will be grayed out).
Project owners can remove scenarios by selecting them and clicking the Remove button.
Note:
A project must always include at least one scenario.
Project Users¶
The project Users tab shows which users are associated with a project.
If you are the project owner, you can add more users by clicking the Invite Users button.
Begin typing a user's name and then select their name in the drop-down list. You can add up to ten users at a time.
Project owners can remove users by selecting one or more names and clicking the Remove From Project button.
Users can also remove themselves from the project by selecting their name and clicking the Remove button. Note that a project must always include at least one user. Project owners cannot be removed: to remove a project owner, the project owner must first transfer the ownership to another user.
Additional Enhancements¶
- Previously, when you filtered the Messages page, the filter settings would not persist after you left the page. Now, the filter settings are saved so that when you return to the page you can pick up where you left off.
- Previously, when you selected the Open In button on the Part Details page, CI Design was listed in the application list. This has been updated to reflect the rebranding of CI Design to aP Design.
