Explore the Part and Assembly Details Page

Use the Part and Assembly Details page to analyze, adjust, and share information about your components and scenarios.

The page consists of four main sections: Scenario Results, 3D Viewer, Insights, and Comments:

Each section is collapsible, allowing you to adjust the screen space allocated to a specific section.

Scenario Results

The Scenario Results section provides information about the selected scenario, including:

  • Cost details
  • Scenario input parameters
  • Material information
  • Manufacturing information
  • Sustainability information

Note:

This section is highly configurable, allowing you to move cards, edit or remove cards, and create custom cards. For details, see Configure Cards. You can also easily collaborate by adding messages and comments to the data fields. For details, see Collaborate Using Messages and Comments.

3D Viewer

The 3D Viewer in aP Workspace is similar to the viewer available in aP Design:

The 3D Viewer includes the following controls:

  • Zoom in and out
  • Return to a home view
  • Select analysis types such as Bounding Box, GCD Labels, or Flat Outline
  • Choose drawing modes such as Transparent View, Wireframe, or Solid
  • Adjust view orientations
  • Enable or disable the axis display
  • Section the part along several planes
  • Take a screen capture

Insights

The Insights section contains the following categories of information:

  • Design Guidance: highlights issues flagged by aPriori and provides guidance on resolving them. Image

For assemblies, you can click the Assembly Tree view:

Click the icons to at the top of the Design Guidance panel to view the following information:

  • Process Routing: displays the steps in the routing process, showing their impact on cost and time. Click on any step for detailed information.
  • Cost: breaks down part costs by categories such as Fully Burdened Cost, Piece Part Cost, or Total Capital Investments.
  • Part Nesting: for some processes that cut multiple units out of a single sheet of material, this shows the nesting layout .
  • Material Stock: provides information on stock form and dimensions.
  • Material Properties: provides information about the composition of the material.

  • Investigation: displays tolerance and threading issues for the part.

Comments

aP Workspace provides extensive commenting and messaging features. For details, see Collaborate Using Messages and Comments

Share a Component

You can easily share components with colleagues by clicking the Share button in the top-right corner of the page:
