Router Setup Options
The Depanelization > Router node of the Process Options Editor provides the following setup options:
Number of Panels in Stack
By default in starting point Digital Factories, aPriori assumes that parts are removed from one panel at a time.
Administrators can customize the default with the cost model variable defaultNumSimultaneousPanels (1 in starting point Digital Factories) and specify the number of panels that are stacked so that parts are removed from multiple panels at once. With the setup option Number of Panels in Stack, (defined by the Depanelization > Router node of the Process Options Editor) users can override the default on a per part basis.
The Number of Panels in Stack can affect machine selection, because the selected machine’s Usable Height must be able to accommodate the total height of all the materials for all the panels being routed at once.
Number of Router Heads Used
aPriori’s cycle time calculation for routing accounts for the fact that multiple parts can be routed at once if the current machine supports multiple router heads.
By default, aPriori assumes that routing uses the number of heads specified by the machine property Max Number of Router Heads. With the setup option Number of Router Heads (provided by the Depanelization > Router node of the Process Options Editor), users can override the default on a per-part basis and specify that the machine uses fewer than the maximum number of heads.
