Fiber-laser-cut-specific Options
Fiber Laser Cut provides the following options, most of which are related to de-nesting (see
De-nesting Time):
Part Removal Time
Part removal time drives
De-nesting Time.
By default, part removal time is looked up by size (blank length, width, and thickness) in the lookup table tblMaterialHandlingBySize. If no appropriate entry is found in tblMaterialHandlingBySize, removal time is looked up by part weight in tblMaterialHandling.
\With the setup option Part Removal Time, users can override the default on a per-part basis.
Tab Grinding
By default in starting point Digital Factories, aPriori assumes the tab grinding is required for small parts. (A part is considered small if either its length or width is less than the value of the cost model variable tabSizeThreshold--254mm in starting point Digital Factories).
(A fiber laser often does not cut the entire perimeter of a small part, but rather leaves tabs or micro-joints that connect the part to the sheet. The connection ensures that the part does not fall through the slats of the cutting bed while under the pressure of the assist gas used during cutting. The tabs are small enough to allow easy de-nesting, but they may leave sharp edges that require grinding.)
With the cost model variable defaultIncludeTabGrindTime (true in starting point Digital Factories), Administrators can customize the default assumption regarding tab grinding. If the variable is set to false, aPriori assumes that tab grinding is never necessary, by default, even for small parts.
With the setup option Tab Grinding, users can override the default on a per-part basis.
For more information on tab grinding, see the following sections:
Number of Tabs per Part
The number of tabs per part drives
De-nesting Time.
By default in starting point Digital Factories, if
Tab Grinding is assumed to be necessary, aPriori assumes that each part has 2 tabs. Administrators can customize the default with the cost model variable
defaultNumTabs.
With the setup option Number of Tabs per Part, users can override the default on a per-part basis.
Number of Stacked Parts per Grind
Tab Grinding is sometimes performed on several parts at once, with the parts arranged into a stack. The number of parts per stack affects
De-nesting Time.
By default, tab grinding is performed on one part at a time if the blank thickness exceeds the value of the cost model variable maxPartStackThickness (40mm in starting point Digital Factories). Otherwise, by default, the number of parts per stack is the maximum number of parts that form a stack whose total thickness does not exceed maxPartStackThickness.
With the setup option Number of Stacked Parts per Grind, users can override the default on a per-part basis.
Tab Grind Time per Stack
By default, tab grind time per stack is specified by the cost model variable defaultGrindTimePerStack (10 seconds in starting point Digital Factories).
With the setup option Tab Grind Time per Stack. users can override the default on a per part basis.
Number of Operators
aPriori assumes that
De-nesting Time decreases as the number of Fiber Laser operators increases.
By default, the number of operators is specified by the machine property Number of Operators.
With the setup option Number of Operators, users can override the default on a per-part basis. Choose one of the following options:
• Default Machine Value: use this option for the default behavior. The number of operators is specified by the machine property Number of Operators.
• Optimized for Part De-Nesting: use this option to direct aPriori to optimize the number of operators. aPriori chooses the smallest number of operators that ensures that
De-nesting Time does not exceed
Sheet Cutting Time.
• User Override: use this option to specify the number of operators explicitly.
