Flash Ridge Area Calculation

This is the difference in the ridge areas of flash when the initial circumference of the area (specified by Estimated External 3D Perimeter) is expanded by the Flash Ridge Allowance. The calculation is: (Estimated External 3D Perimeter * Flash Ridge Allowance) + (PI * Flash Ridge Allowance²):

• Flash Ridge Allowance: This is specified by the cmFlashRidgeAllowance cost model variable (5 mm in starting point Digital Factories).

Flash Cavity Area Calculation

This is the difference in the cavity areas of flash when the initial circumference of the area (specified by Estimated External 3D Perimeter) is expanded by 2 * the Flash Ridge Allowance. The calculation is as described above.
