What's New in Regional Data Libraries 2025-09
As part of an ongoing review to ensure that aPriori provides customers with comprehensive and accurate data coverage, the RDL 2025-09 release includes the following enhancements:
-
The aPriori Regional Data Libraries now include a region for Argentina, bringing the total number of supported regions to 93.
-
aPriori has updated China labor rates after determining that some information previously included in the Direct Benefit Factor already was counted within the Social Insurance Factor. As a result, the Direct Benefit Factor was decreased accordingly, resulting in a general reduction in labor rate for all Chinese regions of approximately 17%.
Note: Labor Rate = Direct Wage * (1 + Direct Benefit Factor + Social Insurance Factor)

aPriori now provides more differentiation in material pricing data for different regions of the world. The 2025-09 RDLs provide distinct pricing for South American regions (notably Brazil and Argentina) versus the North American regions (Mexico, Canada, USA and its sub-regions). In previous RDL releases, Brazil material prices reflected North American values but this adjustment better reflects regional material price trends. As a result of this change, material prices for the aPriori Brazil baseline RDL will decrease by ~ 23% on average. Chile, Morocco, and Tunisia material prices also were adjusted similarly.
The four distinct sets of differentiated material pricing data that aPriori now provides are described below. Material prices for individual regions are aligned with these sets as described below. Generally a region is grouped with its geographic continent, with some exceptions (in italics) to better reflect material market pricing in those regions.
-
ASIA: All Asian countries EXCEPT Japan, South Korea
-
EUROPE: All European countries PLUS Japan, South Korea
-
NORTH. AMERICA: Canada, Mexico, USA PLUS Australia, South Africa
-
WORLD AVERAGE : Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Morocco, Tunisia
Note for Digital Factory managers:
If your company already has an overlay Digital Factory for Brazil, Chile, Morocco, or Tunisia, it will still use the NORTH AMERICA regional material pricing—but note that it may be referenced as a World Average Materials Database, and it may have Material Inheritance linked to aPriori USA. See, for example, the following image:
If you wish to adjust the pricing without updating the overlay/inheritance structure to a new WORLD AVERAGE inheritance, you can update the Material Adjustment Factor within the Material Factors table. aPriori advises using an adjustment factor of 0.78, as this is the 12-month rolling average for the ratio of material prices between the WORLD AVERAGE and NORTH AMERICA pricing levels.
If you are creating a new overlay Digital Factory for a WORLD AVERAGE region, aPriori recommends establishing an inheritance structure to a Materials Digital Factory that uses the WORLD AVERAGE pricing scheme from 2025-09.
Before you make any changes, aPriori recommends that you consult your aPriori account team or aPriori Support.

Within the Forging process group, the toolshop for the Mechanical Press process was enhanced in aP Pro 2025 R1 SP1 (manufacturing process model version CMV 270) to account for new variables in the tooling cost model. This data now is regionalized for each RDL, so Mechanical Press tooling estimates can vary by region.
