Review Sustainability
Use the aP Pro Sustainability Module to analyze the sustainability of a component's manufacture, by calculating the carbon footprint of the production and manufacturing process for that component. You can create a carbon baseline, better understand how design, material, and supplier selections make up the product's carbon footprint, and determine the best actions to reduce a this carbon footprint.
aPriori uses the standard “IPCC 2021 (excluding biogenic CO2)” method in the determination of all carbon emissions factors.
Note: the aP Pro Sustainability Module requires a separate license - see Sustainability Module Licensing.
Sustainability scope
aP Pro Sustainability measures greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions throughout a manufacturer’s supply chain to give the CO2e footprint of manufactured parts and assemblies.
aP Pro Sustainability focuses on the material and processing of the manufacturing process, so the scope is cradle-to-gate.
aPriori Sustainability calculates the carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) value for materials and manufacturing of a part.
Tip: You can also enter Logistics Carbon data when you cost a part. aP Pro includes the entered data in Sustainability calculations. For details, see Edit the Logistics Carbon for a part.
Carbon from product use, tooling, and end-of-life is not currently considered. Data for water usage and eutrophication are not currently included in aPriori Sustainability.
Processes supported in Sustainability lists the supported processes by process group.
Sustainability Module Licensing
You must have a current aPriori Sustainability License to input, analyze, and access Sustainability data in aP Pro.
