Visibility to Carbon Estimate Coverage
aPriori 2023 R1 SP2 provides more detailed visibility into the manufacturing processes which provide carbon estimates and the extent to which carbon emissions are estimated across the entire process routing.
As aPriori rapidly adds carbon emissions estimates in our manufacturing process models, we aim to provide transparency when some processes included in a routing do not yet provide CO2e data. This enables our customers to note this or adjust aPriori estimates upward in their own reporting if desired. Both aP Pro and aP Design now display both a count of total processes included in the routing, and the number of those processes for which carbon data is not yet provided.
In aP Design, this information is included in the Sustainability card on the left side of the screen.
In aP Pro, the Sustainability tab provides similar summary-level information.
Additionally, clicking the Review button displays a list of the specific processes which do not provide fully-complete carbon estimates. For machining processes, a message is displayed which indicates the extent of carbon support. This message is expressed in terms of the percentage of total calculated process cycle time which is due to operations which do not yet estimate carbon emissions. Often just a small subset of the process’s operations do not include a carbon estimate. In the example below, the great majority of 3 Axis Mill operations *do* provide these estimates. However, center-drilling holemaking operations do not yet include carbon estimates, so a message is displayed that a very small percentage (less than 1%) of the total process cycle time is from operations that neglect carbon estimates.
Additionally in aP Pro, the Supports Sustainability field (in the Sustainability Summary table view of the Part Details tab) is set to Yes, No or Partial for the relevant processes
