Agent Installation Overview¶
Whether you are installing an aP Connect Agent for a PLM integration or for a File System integration, the general process is the same.
First, complete the prerequisites for installing and configuring an Agent on a Windows Operating System (OS) server. While the prerequisites differ depending on the type of integration that you are installing the Agent for (TeamCenter® PLM, Windchill® PLM, or File System), the general prerequisites include these processes:
- Determine which physical configuration you want to use for your integration.
- Obtain information and credentials for the machines in your physical configuration.
- Obtain installer files that are required for the installation.
- Create or identify folders and directories that are required for the installation.
- Create a connector in aP Connect.
- Configure the configuration properties for the installation.
For more information, see PLM Agent Installation Prerequisites and File System Agent Installation Prerequisites
Once you have fulfilled the prerequisites, you can install the aP Connect Agent software by running the aPriori Agent Install Wizard or by executing the installer in the Command Prompt, which you Run as Administrator. For more information, see Install an Agent.
After you install the agent:
- If the machine or server that you plan to install the Agent to uses a Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTPS) URL to access the machine or server that contains your PLM or, for a File System integration, the machine that you plan to create the aP Connect Root Folder on, prepare all the information that you need to load your JDK certificates to the Agent machine. For more information, see Importing Java Developer Kit Certificates.
- As required, start or restart the service for the agent. As required, start or restart the service for the agent. For more information, see Stop, Start, or Restart an Agent.
- Test the functionality of the connection between aP Connect, the Agent, and your PLM or File System. For more information, see Confirm Connectivity and Functionality.
-
If the Agent is for a File System integration, to populate the associated aP Connect Root Folder, create a Workflow that uses the Connector that is associated with the Agent. For more information, see Create Workflow Folders in the aP Connect Root Folder.
-
To forward aP Connect Agent logs to Observe, including optional MiddleCode logs, see Forward Agent Logs to Observe.
