Workflow Management Responsibilities¶
aP Connect Workflows allow you to automate and schedule processes that read, write, and transfer data, cost components, generate reports, and email notifications to product team members. aP Connect Workflow management tasks include the creation, invocation, modification, cancellation, and deletion of Workflows. Of these responsibilities, Workflow creation is primary and includes these tasks:

Configure the Details settings:

Enter a name and, optionally, a description for the Workflow.
- Select a Connector.
- Enable or disable the Workflow – Enabled Workflows run automatically according to the active schedule. Disabled Workflows do not. To run a disabled Workflow, you must invoke it manually. You can also manually invoke a Workflow that is enabled.

Configure a schedule.

Define a query – Create a query using mapped fields for the specified Connector.
- Configure Costing Inputs (optional) – By default, a Workflow applies the aP Connect-to-PLM field mappings that are defined by the associated Connector. The Costing Inputs settings allow you to apply mapping rules that reinforce, augment, or override the mapping that is defined by the associated Connector. For more information, see Attribute Value Precedence.
- Configure Notifications (optional) – Configure a Workflow to send results, reports, and job monitoring information in notification emails.
- Configure Publications (optional) – Configure the workflow to write data and attach reports to the PLM or Files System.
