The aP Generate Solution

aP Connect is part of the aPriori aP Generate solution. The connections in the solution allow for Workflow automation, including component costing and information sharing between your PLM database or a dedicated folder in your File System, the aP Connect database, the aPriori operational and reporting database, and the members of your team, including managers and key stakeholders.

This diagram shows the architecture for a aP Generate PLM integration. Your PLM system can be deployed to your PLM server, either in a cloud environment or on your local machine.

This diagram shows the architecture for a aP Generate File System integration. A File System integration, which can be used as an alternative to or in addition to a PLM Integration, provides a connection between aP Connect and a dedicated directory on your local machine, on-premise server, or cloud hosted server. The aP Generate solution interfaces with your PLM or File System and your product teams. Product teams typically include engineers and key stakeholders such as:

  • Design Engineers
  • Cost Engineers
  • Sourcing Expert
  • Team Leads
  • Team Managers
  • Product Managers

The aP Generate solution includes a PLM or File-System Agent and applications and services in the aPriori Cloud. The Agent is a Java application that bridges your PLM or File System to aP Connect. You can install the Agent on your PLM or File System server or on a server that your PLM or File System Server can communicate with.

The aPriori Cloud Includes

  • aP Connect – aPriori Cloud application that, via the PLM-side Agent and a virtual Connector, integrates your PLM system with aPriori Cloud services and applications. Stores and manages Workflows.
  • aP Connect Database – Stores Workflows. Also stores components, production and manufacturing information, and analysis results for the products that you make.
  • aPriori Operational and Reporting databases – Store components, production and manufacturing information, and analysis results for the products that you make.
  • aP Analytics – Provides cost and manufacturing reports.
  • aP Admin – Exports scenarios from the aPriori Operational database to the aPriori Reporting database
  • aP Design – Provides design-optimization-level cost and manufacturing analysis and advice.
  • aP Pro via AppStream – Provides cost-optimization-level cost and manufacturing analysis and advice.
