User Management Responsibilities

Responsibilities for aP Connect System Administrator Accounts

As an aP Connect System Administrator, you are not solely responsible for managing aP Connect user accounts. Instead, you must work with aPriori Customer Support to:

  • Add a user
  • Edit user account information
  • Update user permissions
  • Delete a user
  • Ensuring that users have the licenses required for the tasks that aP Connect Workflows perform.

You can view the names and some information your account and for accounts of other users from within aP Connect.

Responsibilities for the aPrioriCIGenerateUser Account

aP Connect Workflows can read, export, import, and write, data; create and cost scenarios; and generate reports and email notifications. However, they can perform these processes only if they use an account that has the requisite licenses and privileges.

An aPrioriCIGenerateUser account is a dedicated account that is configured to meet the license and access requirements of the Workflows that aP Connect system administrators create.

Notes

  • The aPrioriCIGenerateUser is not a person.
  • Only aP Connect Workflows use the aPrioriCIGenerateUser account.
  • aP Connect system administrators use their own accounts, not the aPrioriCIGenerateUser account.

As an aP Connect System Administrator, you are responsible for working with aPriori Customer Support, aPriori System Administrators, and PLM System Administrators to ensure that Workflows have the aPriori and PLM licensing and access required to:

  • Read costing inputs from your PLM system
  • Cost parts.
  • Write costing outputs back to your PLM system.

For more information about aPriori licensing and access privileges that the aPrioriCIGenerateUser requires, see the aP Pro System Administrator Guide.
