System Access Requirements

Each aP Connect PLM Agent must be installed on either:

  • The server that contains the PLM system.
  • A server that can communicate with the server that contains the PLM system. For a File System Integration, if the aP Connect Root Folder is not located on the machine or server that the Agent is installed on, the machine or server that the Agent is installed on must have full permission for and full control of the machine or server that the aP Connect Root Folder is installed on.

Each aP Connect File System Agent must be installed on a machine or server that you can read and write data to. A prerequisite to the File System agent installation process, you must also create an aP Connect (aP Connect) Root Folder. When you run an aP Connect workflow for a File System integration, the agent reads and writes input data (production and manufacturing information) and output data (manufacturability and cost analysis results) to files in the aP Connect Root Folder. For more information, see Create Workflow Folders in the aP Connect Root Folder.

The aP Connect Root Folder must reside on either:

  • The machine or server that you are going to install the agent on
  • A network drive or network share that can be accessed, controlled, read from, and written to by the machine or server that you are going to install the agent on.
