Comprehensive Multi-Tenant Rebuild of CID

Cost Insight Design (CID) Release Notes 2021 R1 SP1

Total rebuild of the Cost Insight Design as a multi-tenant application provides the framework for significant improvements for existing and future products in the aPriori Cloud.

Cost Insight Design has been totally rebuilt as a multi-tenant application with a modern, JavaScript React Framework. As a multi-tenancy application with a robust microservices based AWS "Well-Architected Framework", Cost Insight Design is better situated for scaling cloud computing resources for supporting additional user groups. and for rapidly rolling out new features to current customers.

The Cost Insight Design rebuild provides the requisite substructure for an enhanced user experience. For example, users can now build and save multiple criteria-based filters for the Explore tab and reorder summary tiles in the Comparison page.

The rebuild also lays the groundwork for more seamless cross-application collaboration between Cost Insight Design and other aPriori applications. For example, the new framework allows for an automatic, near-real-time, background data synch from aPriori Professional to Cost Insight Design.

In Cost Insight Design 2021 R1 SP1, you can see some of the environment changes that have been implemented to support future enhancements. For example, in a future release, in the Cost Insight Preferences, the Language field on the Display Preferences will allow users to choose from a variety of the display languages and the options on the Multi-Body will allow users to control which distinct solid bodies are imported and how Cost Insight Design interprets them

To ensure data exchange security, all customer CAD data is encrypted in transit and at rest with AES-256 (Rijndael) encryption. The encryption keys are managed via an AWS Key Management Service (KMS). Customer CAD files are used strictly as input to the aPriori Insight Engine. CAD data is stored in region-specific and customer-specific buckets. aPriori Services that require access to an unencrypted CAD file are located on separate private subnet tiers and have only temporary storage. End users cannot download or access CAD files. To remove data after a specified period of time, customers can configure a CAD file retention policy. To meet regulatory, privacy, or other compliance requirements, data storage can be limited to certain geographic regions.
