Review Sustainability

The Sustainability tile provides high level information about the carbon emissions for the manufacturing of a component.

Image

This information includes:

  • Total Processes: number of processes used to make the part or assembly.
  • Processes Missing Sustainability: number of processes used to make the part or assembly that are not supported for sustainability.
  • Components Material Carbon: mass equivalent carbon emissions from manufacturing the material required to make the part or assembly.
  • Components Process Carbon: mass equivalent carbon emissions from the processes that are manufacturing the material required to make to make the part or assembly.
  • Total Components Carbon: mass equivalent carbon emissions from the material, processes, and logistics that are required to make the part or assembly.

Explore the Sustainability Results

For a part scenario, the Sustainability explorer provides high level information about the carbon emissions for the material and the processes that are used to make the part. For an assembly scenario, the Sustainability explorer provides the material, process, and logistics carbon for the components in the assembly.

To open the Sustainability explorer, on the Evaluate tab, in the upper right corner of the Sustainability tile, click the OPEN button.

Note

The information provided in the Sustainability explorer depends on whether the processes used to manufacture the analyzed scenario are supported for Sustainability Insights. For information on supported processes, see the Sustainability Insights section of the aP Pro User Guide.

Example: Sheet Metal Part

This shows the Sustainability explorer for a sheet metal part that is made by using two processes that are supported for sustainability.

This shows:

  • The material, process, and logistics carbon values.
  • The total and annual carbon.
  • Any override options available.
