Platform and CAD Support Updates¶
Support for NX™ 2007 and 2006 Series¶
Import an NX™ 2007 or 2226 Series CAD file directly to Cost Insight Design.
The NX™ 2007 and 2206 Series are certified for use with Cost Insight Design, and are supported for MCAD integration via the Cost in aPriori NX™ Plug-in.
To import an NX™ CAD file directly to Cost Insight Design, click the Import button and then drag and drop or browse to the CAD file from the Import CAD File dialog.
To import an NX™ CAD file directly to Cost Insight Design from NX™, install, configure, and confirm the Cost in aPriori NX™ Plug-in, open the CAD file to NX™, and then, in the NX™, toolbar, click Cost in aPriori.
Note
A separate service is required for a Cost in aPriori NX™ Plug-in installation. An aPriori Services Engagement is required to implement delivery of the service. Support for CATIA™ V5-6 R2022¶
Import a CATIA™ V5-6 R2022 CAD file directly to Cost Insight Design.
CATIA™ V5-6 R2022 is certified for use with Cost Insight Design.
To import an CATIA™ V5-6 R2022 file from within Cost Insight Design, click the Import button and then drag and drop or browse to the CAD file from the Import CAD File dialog.
To import an CATIA™ V5 CAD file to Cost Insight Design from CATIA™ V5, install, configure, and confirm the Cost in aPriori CATIA™ V5 Plug-in, open the CAD file to CATIA™ V5, and then, in the CATIA™ V5, toolbar, click Tools > Cost in aPriori > Cost in aPriori.
Support for Creo® 9¶
Import a Creo® 9 CAD file directly to Cost Insight Design.
Creo® 9 is certified for use with Cost Insight Design, and are supported for MCAD integration via the Cost in aPriori Creo® Cloud Plug-in.
To import a Creo® CAD file directly to Cost Insight Design, click the Import button and then drag and drop or browse to the CAD file from the Import CAD File dialog.
To import a Creo® CAD file directly to Cost Insight Design from Creo®, install, configure, and confirm the Cost in aPriori Creo® Cloud Plug-in, open the CAD file to Creo®, and then, in the Creo® In the menu bar, click Applications. Then in the toolbar, click Cost in aPriori.
Planned De-support of Creo® 3¶
Official support for Creo® 3 to be discontinued in a future release Cost Insight Design2022 R1.
Creo® 3 has reached the Support End Date published by PTC and the APIs used by aPriori to integrate with Creo® no longer are supported by PTC. Therefore, in a future release, support for Creo® 3 integration via the Cost in aPriori Creo® Cloud Plug-in will cease.
It is expected that Cost Insight Design will continue to be able to open CAD files saved in Creo® 3 (for example, by uploading them directly to Cost Insight Design. However, aPriori will no longer regularly test this version and reserves the right to not investigate or address issues that are apparent only in Creo® 3.
Note
PTC has published that all Creo® versions prior to Creo 7 already have reached their Support End Date, with no option for Extended Support. At this time, aPriori continues to provide support for Creo® 3 and higher versions including offering a Direct Integration mode. However, in future releases, aPriori will discontinue certification testing and support for certain older versions of Creo®.
Support for SOLIDWORKS™ 2022¶
Import a SOLIDWORKS™ 2022 CAD file directly to Cost Insight Design.
9 is certified for use with Cost Insight Design, and are supported for MCAD integration via the Cost in aPriori SOLIDWORKS™ plug-in.
To import a SOLIDWORKS™ CAD file directly to Cost Insight Design, click the Import button and then drag and drop or browse to the CAD file from the Import CAD File dialog.
To import a SOLIDWORKS™ CAD file directly to Cost Insight Design from SOLIDWORKS™, install, configure, and confirm the Cost in aPriori SOLIDWORKS™ plug-in, open the CAD file to SOLIDWORKS™, and then, in the SOLIDWORKS™ menu bar, click Cost in aPriori.
Support for SOLID EDGE® 2020 and 2022¶
Import a Solid Edge® 2020 or 2022 CAD file directly to Cost Insight Design..
Solid Edge® 2020 or 2022 are certified for use with Cost Insight Design, and are supported for MCAD integration via the Cost in aPriori CATIA™ V5 Plug-in.
To import a Solid Edge® CAD file directly to Cost Insight Design, click the Import button and then drag and drop or browse to the CAD file from the Import CAD File dialog.
To import an Solid Edge® CAD file to Cost Insight Design from CATIA™ V5, install, configure, and confirm the Cost in aPriori CATIA™ V5 Plug-in, open the CAD file to CATIA™ V5, and then, in the CATIA™ V5, toolbar, click Tools > Cost in aPriori > Cost in aPriori.
Note
Solid Edge® 2021, although expected to work release 2022 R1 SP1 with was not certified due to low customer demand.
De-support of SOLID EDGE® ST7¶
Solid Edge® ST7 is not certified for Cost Insight Design 2022 R1 SP1.
aPriori no longer will test and certify the use of Solid Edge® ST7 or earlier versions with Cost Insight Design. These versions reached End of Life some time ago and we are not aware of any current customers using that version. Customers likely still will be able to successfully open and analyze an ST7 file in aPriori, however aPriori no longer will validate this and will not address any issues found to occur only with that CAD version or earlier versions.
