How AC Model Extension Works

Access Control (AC) model extension depends on Scenario Export, a aP Admin Enterprise Platform module that is available as a local web service for aPriori On-Premise installations of aP Analytics.

Scenario Export moves scenarios from the aPriori database into the aP Analytics database on a scheduled basis. During the export process, the Scenario Export Service evaluates the associated aPriori access rules for each scenario that it transfers. The access rules are captured in the user_to_scenario table, which maps users to the scenarios that they are authorized to access. aP Analytics stores and automatically enforces the aPriori scenario permissions table mappings for Out-of-Box (OOB) reports and ad hoc views. Therefore, users that can view reports and access ad hoc views that you create in aP Analytics can see the associated scenario only if they have permission to do so in aPriori .

When extended to aP Analytics, the Access Control model also applies to component schemas. An aP Analytics user that does not have access to a component schema in aP Pro does not have access to the scenarios in that schema in aP Analytics.
