User Roles

As an aP Administrator, you must define users in JasperReports® Server and assign those users to roles. The roles define what access rights the users have, such as which reports they can run and what data they can see.

By default, write permission is only available to administration users (assigned to the "ROLE_ADMINISTRATOR" role.

Example: Create Report Storage Folder

In Jaspersoft, you can create a separate writable folder for users to store Ad hoc views and reports, creating a ROLE_REPORTDESIGNER role enabling write access to this folder for users with that role.
