Analyze Electronics¶
aPriori provides separately-licensed electronics analysis modules: PCBA and Wire Harness.
- PCBA: allows you to cost a Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) by importing a PCBA Bill Of Materials (BOM).
- Wire Harness: allows you to cost a Wire Harness by importing a Wire Harness BOM.
Electronic Data Collection (EDC) also allows you to enhance your costing process with third-party component data.
PCBA¶
Note:
By default, aPriori provides a PCB (Printed Circuit Board) Process Group, allowing you to extract GCDs from Gerber or ODB++, or ECAD design files. See PCB Costing.
The PCBA module allows you to analyze a Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA), by importing a PCBA BOM to aPriori.
You can take the PCB (whether its cost is derived from aPriori or direct from a supplier) and analyze the full electronic scope of the assembly, including the BOM electronics to apply to the board or any necessary testing and labor involved.
See PCBA Costing.
Wire Harness¶
The Wire Harness Costing Module allows you to analyze a Wire Harness by importing a Wire Harness bill of materials (BOM) to aP Pro.
Use this module to analyze the cost of structured assembly features combined as a harness and made up of electrical cabling, components designed to transmit signals and power.
See Wire Harness Costing.
Electronic Data Collection (EDC)¶
The Electronics Data Collection is an aPriori application that automatically finds and adds missing costing data from Silicon Expert to your uploaded PCBA or Wire Harness BOM. You can export the augmented BOM from the Electronics Data Collection service and then import it to the applicable Electronics Costing Module in aPriori.
See Electronics Data Collection.
