Cost Model Changes that Do Not Affect Configured Digital Factories

The following changes do not affect costings with Digital Factories that use earlier cost model versions. The changes are available only in the latest cost model version.

  • Sustainability Insights: aPriori now estimates carbon emissions (CO2e) for Bar and Tube parts, including carbon associated both with the material stock used to make the part and the fabrication processes themselves. (You must have a license for the Sustainability module to access this functionality.)

  • Machine Overhead and Labor Costs (can affect Direct Overhead Cost): In previous releases, some processes double counted the cost for labor by inappropriately including it in machine overhead. This release corrects the problem by changing the machine property Overhead Multiplier from 1 to 0 where appropriate.

    As a result, Direct Overhead Cost decreases for the following processes:

    • Profile 3 Roll Bend
    • Reciprocating Sawing (only when Reciprocating Saw - 420mm Max Stock Diameter is selected) Direct Overhead Cost deceased by around 88%, in a set of affected test parts, and Fully Burdened Cost decreased by around 9%, compared to the previous release.
