| Process Group or Functional Area | Changes |
|---|---|
| Design Guidance | Prioritized Design Guidance: This release introduces prioritized design guidance for the process groups and process model versions listed below, allowing you to quickly identify the most significant manufacturability concerns. You can also customize threshold values and enable or disable advice rules to reflect your organization's standards. - Casting - Die with CMV240 - Casting - Investment with CMV 140 - Sheet Metal - Roll Forming with CMV80 - Additive Manufacturing with CMV180 - Assembly Molding with CMV140 Tolerance Advice Rules for Planar Faces: Runout and Total Runout tolerance advice rules, previously missing for planar faces in Die Casting, are now included (with CMV240). Bench Operation Machine Cost and Visibility: This release adds a representative machine cost for the Bench Operation and updates the Investment Casting (CMV140) component template so that Direct and Indirect Overhead costs for these operations now display in the Part Details tab. Hole and Throat Diameter Values in Back-Counterbored Hole Message: The back-counterbored hole design guidance message previously referenced the hole diameter and throat diameter values in the wrong order. The message now displays the correct values with the latest process model versions. Machining Scrap Percentage for Roll Forming: Machining Scrap % now populates correctly in the design guidance UI for Sheet Metal - Roll Forming (CMV80) parts that include machining operations. |
| Usability and Performance | Multi-Scenario Import and Open After Import: You can now select multiple scenario files to import at once. You can also choose to open the imported scenarios by using a new option in the import completion dialog. System Administration Updates: This release resolves a performance regression, that caused System Admin publishing times to increased significantly. Spreadsheet Report File Names: This release resolves an issue that sometimes caused report files name to be populated incorrectly. The issue occurred only for part names that included a "." (dot) character. Custom Digital Factory Display: In this release, aPriori displays your custom Digital Factories, in the Digital Factory slection list, before any aPriori baseline Digital Factories. Custom material Purchase Factors: This release resolves an issue where custom material purchase factors defined at the material-type level were not applied when a user changed the purchase volume in the Material Selection window to a value other than the default. |
| System Administration | Login ID Updates: For customers using on-premise aP Pro, this release enables administrators to update a user's Login ID or email address through the System Admin Toolset without affecting the user's historical activity, permissions, or data associations. |
| Cost Model Workbench | Message Editor: This release adds a dedicated editor for design guidance advice rule and cost driver message text to the Cost Model Workbench (CMWB). Previously, updating the display text for a design guidance or cost driver message required exporting the cost model to disk, editing the message file in a text editor, and reimporting the cost model. Digital Factory administrators can now edit message text directly within the CMWB. |
| Assembly | Improved Assembly Opening Performance: This release introduces parallel processing and data caching for assembly geometry extraction, reducing the time required to open large assemblies and assemblies that contain many instances of the same part. |
| Bar & Tube | Improved Stock Shape Recognition for User-Selected Overrides: This release introduces an improved stock shape recognition algorithm for Bar and Tube Fabrication that gives users more flexibility to override the automatically-selected stock form. |
| Machining | Parts Costed in Digital Factories Without Machining: This release corrects an error introduced in aP Pro 2025 R1 SP3, in which scenarios costed in a Digital Factory that did not include the Machining process group could display an error when the user reviewed design guidance results. Final Tool Feed Rate: In previous releases, the Final Tool Feed Rate value could round to zero for operations with a very small feed, even though the underlying feed was nonzero. In this release with the latest Machining process model (CMV400), the displayed value now uses additional decimal places when needed, so it reflects the actual feed. Cycle Time for Fine Finish Milling: Previously, Fine Finishing operations on curved surfaces, curved walls, and planar faces could calculate an infinite cycle time when the feed rate for the operation was very small and rounded to zero. In this release with the latest Machining process model (CMV400), the feed calculation now uses the correct value, so cycle time calculates correctly for these operations. |
| Sheet Metal | Hem Check Advice for Progressive Die Routing: A supporting calculation used by the die station hem check advice rule in the progressive die routing was inadvertently removed in a previous release (Sheet Metal manufacturing process model CMV330, released with aP 2025 R1 SP3), which could cause an error during the costing of affected scenarios. This release with the latest process model version (CMV360) corrects this error. Sustainability Calculation Error: In previous releases, costing certain Sheet Metal parts that use 3 Roll Bending could fail with a sustainability configuration error. This release with the latest process model version (CMV360) corrects this error. Excessive Feature Size Guidance: Turret press punching design guidance could flag an Excessive Feature Size issue on blank edges that combine both concave and convex curvature, even though these edges are better suited to nibbling than punching. In this release with the latest process model (CMV360), this issue no longer fires for multi-curved edges. Direct Overhead and Cycle Time Overrides: Overriding the cycle time on a progressive die part updated labor cost but not Direct Overhead cost, so the two costs could become inconsistent. In this release with the latest process model (CMV360), Direct Overhead cost now recalculates correctly when cycle time is overridden. |
| Regional Data Libraries | The 2026-09 Regional Data Libraries(RDLs) contain updates to exchange rates, labor rates, overhead rates, and material rates. |
| Platform and CAD Support | Analyze-in-aPriori CAD Plug-ins: New versions of the plug-ins significantly improve both the end-user experience and the ease of deployment. These new plug-ins are compatible with aP Pro 2026 R1 SP2. Plug-in Resolved Issues: This release resolves an issue where assembly components sharing a name with their parent assembly were missing from aP Design after upload via the Creo, CATIA, SolidWorks, Inventor, and Solid Edge plug-ins. This release also resolves a stability issue in the NX plug-in that could cause NX to crash during use. LDAP: Pending De-Support for Out-of-Date Encryption Algorithms: If you use aP Pro on-premise and use LDAP to import and authenticate aPriori users, your LDAP servers must support AES encryption before you can move to aP Pro 2026 SP3 (to be released in December 2026) or any future aP Pro release. |
| Language Support | This release provides translations of the user interface and message strings for new capabilities and enhancements introduced in the releases aP Pro 2025 R1 SP1 through aP Pro 2026 R1 SP1 into Chinese, French, German, and Japanese. |
| Documentation | Documentation is available at docs.apriori.com. Note that to search or access the aPriori tutorials and cost model documentation, you must login to this Support page. That page links to the Web site that provides both access and search for these documents. Tihs release provides a number of recent enhancements to the aP Pro documentation, including a new AI-friendly platform, improved electronics and Digital Factory guides, more Knowledgebase articles on loading CAD files, information on performance best practices, and enhanced process group overviews. |
