Geometry or Cost Engine Changes that Could Impact Configured Digital Factories

The following changes might impact costing, even for Digital Factories that use earlier cost model versions.

  • Stock Form Recognition (can impact stock selection): Building on the enhancements delivered in the previous two releases, aPriori 2025 R1 continues to become more tolerant of CAD modeling errors, such as small variations in the cross section of a part or abrupt, non-tangent bends. These improvements include:
    • Better recognizing parts intended to be made from a standard round or rectangular tube stock rather than a custom extruded stock
    • Correctly recognizing geometry intended to represent bends or forms, rather than designating them as NotSupported GCDs
    • Identifying the correct stock length, even in the presence of poorly-modeled bends and forms As a result of these changes, the selected stock may change compared to the previous release, and stock selection may succeed for some parts for which it previously failed. For customers who license aPriori extrusions, aPriori may now select a standard stock form for some parts for which it previously selected extruded stock.
