Creating scenarios through Bulk Costing

This section describes things to consider when you are creating or running a Bulk Costing Group without any scenarios already in the database.

Suppose the parts you are bulk costing have not been previously costed and therefore do not yet exist in the database.

  • If you run bulk costing with an Excel User Inputs spreadsheet that specifies two scenarios, you should specify one (and only one) of the two scenarios to be official.
  • If you specify more than one scenario for the same part to be official, aPriori displays an error message when you try to run the Bulk Loader.
  • If neither scenario is specified to be official, the Bulk Loader makes the first scenario it processes the official one.
  • If parts are already stored in the database, and an official scenario already exists, you can set "official" to put any scenario in official status.
  • If "official" is left blank or set to FALSE, the Bulk Loader will not alter official status.
