Improved Assembly Opening Performance

aP Pro 2026 R1 SP2 introduces parallel processing for assembly geometry extraction, reducing the time required to open large assemblies. Previously, assembly components were processed sequentially during the initial opening of an assembly and whenever a CAD file was updated with no cached data available, resulting in significant wait times for large assemblies.

With this release, components are extracted in parallel. Testing across a large assembly test suite resulted in 33% faster conversion times. On average assemblies that contain many instances of the same part also benefit from an additional optimization that avoids redundant geometry processing for duplicate components.

Customers who have experienced long assembly opening times in aP Pro should see meaningful improvement with this release. Similar performance improvements when opening assemblies in aP Design are planned for a future release.
