Cost Model Changes that Do Not Affect Configured Digital Factories¶
The following changes do not affect costings with Digital Factories that use earlier cost model versions. The changes are available only in the latest cost model version (CMV290).
- Hole Proximity (impacts design guidance only): Previously, aPriori often erroneously indicated that the proximity of two holes resulted in walls that were too thin. This release fixes the problem, resulting in a significant reduction in false positive hole proximity issues. There are now typically about 80% fewer hole proximity issues for Plastic Molding, compared to the previous release.
- Short Shot Condition (impacts design guidance only): This release improves the visibility of short shot conditions by automatically displaying a visualization of the Flow Appraisal GCD directly on the CAD model in the Viewer when a Short Shot Condition design guidance issue is selected.
- Blind Hole L/D Feedback (impacts design guidance only): Previously, aPriori flagged blind holes that exceeded recommended length-to-diameter (L/D) ratios twice—once under the Blind Hole issue category and once under the Hole Depth to Hole Diameter Ratio issue category. This release removes the duplicate feedback. L/D issues for blind holes are displayed only within the Blind Hole issues category. L/D issues for through holes are displayed in the Hole Depth to Hole Diameter Ratio list.
