Scenario Collaboration Features

aP Pro includes scenario-based features that you can use to facilitate collaboration between multiple users.

• Notes: Click the Notes toolbar button () to add notes to a scenario, such as decisions, changes, or questions. Notes are available to other users working on that scenario, and are also accessible to users of aP Pro and aP Design.
• Assignee: Each scenario has an Assignee attribute, to assign cost estimation tasks to a user. This field is available both in the Cost Guide and the Administrative Info dialog. Use the Assignee field of the Search dialog to find scenarios assigned to yourself or other users. Alternately, you can make a Dynamic Roll Up which returns all scenarios assigned to the user of interest.
• A Last Assigned Time field is available; you can edit this when changing the Assignee field, to track when the assignee changed.

• Status and Cost Maturity: These fields enable a user to indicate the current state of a scenario, which you can use for tracking and reporting or to implement a basic collaboration process for reviewing and refining cost estimates as design, manufacturing, and sourcing decisions are made. These fields are available both in the Cost Guide and the Administrative Info dialog. You can also use the BOM Loader in the Digital Factory Toolset to import these values from a spreadsheet for multiple scenarios by including the data in a spreadsheet; this also ensures the settings persist across to aP Design scenarios.

  Status values are New, Analysis, Waiting, Complete, and Closed.

  Cost Maturity values are: Initial, Low, Medium, and High.
