Cost Model Changes that Do Not Affect Configured Digital Factories

The following changes do not affect costings with Digital Factories that use earlier cost model versions. The changes are available only in the latest cost model version.

  • Draft Angle (impacts design guidance): Design guidance now flags a draft angle issue for a feature only if it does not require rough machining. Any draft is assumed to be removed from features requiring rough machining, and so no draft is expected to be reflected in the CAD model (which represents the part's final state). This exclusion applies to fully machined features as well as partially machined features that require roughing; it does not apply to features requiring only finish machining, as finishing processes are unlikely to remove significant material.
